The Raging

Once upon a time
a lonely teardrop fell,
it soon began to trickle and like a river swell.
It recruited other teardrops,
they slithered and they swam until, like a mighty raging,
they prevailed against the dam.

Thank you Ivory!

Austin: funny, I was wishing as I posted it that I had some art work to go with it.

This is really phenomenal. I saved it as one of my all time favorite blog posts!! Thank you so much.

For me, and you may not have meant this, the "raging" is what we think we can never move past.

But when you put it in the context of where it came from, it sounds so pretty!

Thanks!

Paul,

This poem was written about 1980. So many times over the years when I've come across it I've thought of tossing it out. Such a short little poem! And I've always felt it sounds as if I'm whining.

Well, for whatever reason, it's survived. I'm glad to hear that you like it! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
